Bring your gardening gloves and positive energy to the Exclusion Memorial for a morning of trimming, weeding, and beautifying the Memorial site in honor of the February 19th Day of Remembrance. On this day in 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which gave the U.S. Army the authority to remove civilians from the military zones established in Washington, Oregon, and California during WWII. On Bainbridge Island, a hundred of your friends and neighbors will volunteer together to prepare the Memorial for our annual March 30th Commemoration event. Thank you to the Bainbridge Island Metro Parks and Recreation District for providing hand tools and staffing support to make this event one of the most popular stewardship events on the Island!
