On October 11, 2025, six smiling survivors of the WWII Japanese American incarceration
raised their golden shovels and broke ground on a new Visitor Center. Exactly one year later,
thirteen smiling survivors cut the ribbon before a crowd of 400 gathered to celebrate its opening.
What an extraordinary moment for the survivors, their families, and the community that made it possible.
See the highlights of this unforgettable day.
